The prototype is an exact replica of the reclining incense burner that was in use from the end of the Qing Dynasty to the Qianlong period. The entire body is covered in gold paint and completely coated. The design is based on a brocade cloth from the Song Dynasty, a representation of goodness. The windows depict the natural ecosystem of the spring and fall seasons in pastel colors, and finishing the entire piece calls for deft brushwork. The stove's lid is boldly constructed from two pieces of wood, with an inset jade handle for effortless lid raising, a hollowed-out boxwood arrangement, and an outer border of zi guang sandalwood. The base refers to the old base style of the Forbidden City using ziguang sandalwood carved from a single piece.
