The Ming Dynasty, similar to the copper stove, had a lid with an independent crane, which was commonly used by the officials. This meant that the stove's body was large, suitable for tasting incense all the way through and the effect of the smoke was very delicate, as seen by the view of the Huangshan Mountain Sea of Clouds. The overall design of the censer was thick, and the stove body was hand-carved with a pattern of seawater rivers and mountains that represented a river and mountain forever, as well as the symbolism of the blessed mountain and sea of longevity.
